PurpleRestore downgrade upgrade any OS on iPad, iPhone, iPod with Apples Internal Software

RestoreTools.pkg is a package seeded to some Apple employees. It contains the following Mac applications: PurpleRestore, PurpleSNIFF, PurpleFAT, DCSD, PurpleBuildSanitizer, a crash dumper, which automatically launches when an iDevice is connected, and an additional panel for Xcode Organizer. The command line version of PurpleRestore is installed as well to /usr/local/bin as well as a handfull of other command line utilities. These applications aren't installed in /Applications like normal. They are instead installed to /AppleInternal/Applications.

PurpleRestore is a tool created by Apple and used for flashing iDevices. It gives far more customization than iTunes, and usually used to flash the firmware internal to the prototype. PurpleRestore known is capable of detecting devices running / Hot flashes restore file Beta, Stock, NonUI / etc.). Little is currently known about the version of the "support" to recover like it. This tool can be handle multiple returns. When doing a restore device PurpleRestore color coordinates in the table and when the device receives AppleLogo it will change the background color of the screen with the color assigned to the device. Such as iTunes, PurpleRestore communicate with iDevices using usbmux connection.

Unlike iTunes, PurpleRestore not using the IPSW file to restore the device. It uses a "Restore Files" which can be obtained from special server for iOS version.

However, you can create your own bundle by extracting an IPSW to a folder, this applies only to firmwares signed; or if you have SHSH blobs saved for A4 devices (and below) then you can sew or use TinyUmbrella to help downgrade without iTunes, you will need to put your device into pwned DFU still. It will not give you internal debugging capabilities also rooting your device.
